The effect of the colour is cold, grey and bland. This could symbolise sorrow or sadness in the person's life. The light reflected in the eye could reflect hope in these cold times. The eye is focusing on something in the distance which is obviously of some importance. This is reflected on how the shape of her eye is open, alert and completely fixated on this object/person. This image makes me emphasize with the person as the colours and overall image makes me feel sad and isolated.
The camera angle represents someone looking into her eye, having an insight into her life or her memories.
