Welcome to my AS Level Media blog! I have been keeping up to date with all my progress featured on this blog and have endeavoured to use as much detail as possible! Alongside my blog, I have a blue portfolio of which holds some of my main storyboards and ideas for each of the tasks set by our teacher. I intend both the blog and my portfolio to be crammed full of ideas and information. Enjoy!

Ratings

18 - This rating implies that the film should not be watched or purchased by anyone under the age of 18 years of age. To be deemed an 18 certificate - there must be strong language, strong violence or horror as well as sexual content.
Reservoir Dogs - High violence content.


15 - This rating implies that the film should not be watched or purchased by anyone under the age of 15 years of age. There may be aspects of strong language but as a whole, not endorsing the use of strong language. There may also be drug use but again must not endorse it. There may be strong violence or horror which is permitted. Also dangerous behaviour such as hanging or suicide as long as it doesn't make an impression on the viewer. There may also be aspects of nudity in a non-sexual way.
The Hangover - Adult subject matter - Alcohol, Drugs, Gambling, Gang Violence, Adultery, Bad language.


12 - This rating implies that the film should not be purchased or watched by anyone under the age of 12. The language use can be strong so long as it is justified in the text. Nudity is permitted as long as brief and infrequent. Sustained threat is permitted and occasional infrequent gory moments.
Twilight Saga - Subject matter which may be suitable for younger children but not so much for teenagers. Stylised violence.


12a - This implies that the film should not be viewed by anyone under the age of 12, however if it is, they will need adult supervision. This implies that there are again strong language, nudity (infrequent) and sustained threat however it's a lot less frequent for a younger audience.
Only used in cinema ratings and is usually deemed as a 12 on DVD.

PG - This rating tells the viewer that if a child is watching the film, they should have Parental Guidance. There may be mild bad language or implications of it, natural nudity but not of a seuxal content, not prolonged horror sequences and no references to drugs. This is specifically for a younger audience.
Wallace and Gromit - Elements which may be scary to young children. Not suitable for anyone aged under 7.


U - This rating tells the viewer that it is universally viewed and is specifically suitable for pre-school children. There could be references to mild sexual behaviour i.e. Kissing. There should be no reference to realistic weapons.There could be infrequent use of very mild language. Horror threats should be mild, infrequent and the outcome should be reassuring to the viewer.
Most Disney films - Available to all young children with nothing offensive or scary.
